An Agateware cheese stand and cover. Agateware is a varicoloured clay, which gives a marbled effect. This one has a mix of white, brown, blue and green clay’s. Agateware stopped being made in 1780. The cheese stand and cover both have a ridged effect and the lid has a pottery finial, which is quite rare. Most are usually broken off.
