A William IV Mahogany stick barometer. The barometer has a ‘birds’ beak’ moulded top pediment. Below is a reeded and glazed door, which open by a working lock and key. The silvered engraved scale plates is signed by John Braham of Bristol. He worked between 1830 to 1859. The mercury filled tube is topped with a brass domed cap, to the right hand side shows barometric pressure with hand operated Vernier. Set within the middle of the flame mahogany case is mercury filled thermometer tube engraved with a Fahrenheit scale. At the bottom, is a turned wooden cistern cover which conceals the boxwood cistern with it’s brass adjuster wheel protruding.
