A Victorian black lacquered writing slope. The lockable top has a picture with tree peonies and chickens. These have been highlighted with Mother of Pearl and gold leaf. Opening the top shows an angled writing surface with a blue skiver with gold tooling. The fitted interior has a pen tray, stamp slide and inkwells. The outer body of the box has more paintings of flowers and leaves. It also has a shallow full length drawer to the base. The drawer is locked from within the main box.
