A Georgian oak 30-hour longcase clock. Below the moulded cornice with its Box and Ebony wood detailing is an arched top door, flanked by columns fitted with brass capitals. The arched dial, painted with flowers, birds and dummy winding holes has a calendar aperture and it is signed by John Swinburne of Hexham. The 30-hour movement which strikes the hours on a bell is powered by a Huygens endless chain. The case has cross banded canted corners and an onion shape top to the door, which is fitted with a brass escutcheon and a working lock and key. It is raised on a moulded plinth base with a shaped front.
